Bay Women Association Network (BAYWAN) Participates in Key Meeting on Disaster Recovery in Baidoa

Our BAYWAN team had the privilege of participating in a significant meeting with the Minister of Relief Affairs and Disaster Management, Hon. Abdinasir Abdi Arush. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Swedish Government in charge of foreign aid (#SIDA), alongside representatives from #UNDP and #UN-HABITAT, who visited Baidoa to discuss ongoing and future projects. Our Executive Director, Ms. Zainab Omar Ali Azam accompanied the team and was actively present during the discussions.

Hon. Abdinasir Abdi Arush emphasized the critical need to expand disaster recovery projects, particularly those addressing the impacts of climate change in the KGS areas. He expressed his gratitude for the existing projects and the technical assistance provided by the Ministry of Environment KGS, which have significantly contributed to the region’s resilience efforts.

We are proud to stand alongside the Ministry in these efforts and remain committed to supporting initiatives that build a stronger, more resilient future for our communities.
